Biden, Trump, and the Battle for America’s Future
Tomorrow marks three years since the unthinkable became reality. A reality so shocking that millions still cannot deal with it. Instead, they keep telling themselves that President Biden, the Democratic Party, the Mainstream Media (MSM), etc., are a grave threat to the ideals of America and our way of life. How can you even begin to speak to people that deep in denial?
But there are millions more who don’t care anything about any of this, they just want prices to come down and their future to be less uncertain. I get that, I do, but if you can’t care when the future of the republic is on the line, you don’t deserve a better future and you are not going to get one. As the French Monarchist, Joseph de Maistre famously said, “Every nation gets the government it deserves.” This is particularly true in a democratic society, where you have a clear choice between action and apathy; between the desires of the moment and the needs of the future.
There has never been a starker choice in American History and it frightens me that so many people refuse to accept this. I want to shake them and yell at them, “Trump sent a violent mob to attack another branch of government and his own Vice President! People died! Don’t you get it?!” But I fear they will just stair at me, like the proverbial deer in the headlights and say, “Ya, but Biden’s old.” Or ask, “What about Hunter’s laptop?” As if these things were meaningful.
Today President Biden came out swinging and I hope he keeps it up until Election Day. None of the qualities that have actually made America great and worthy of admiration are embodied by Donald Trump and his MAGA cult. Not a single one. To believe otherwise is to be divorced from reality.
